I strongly suspect this clinic is deliberately sabotaging patients’ testosterone replacement therapy outcomes.
It has become routine here to automatically add aromatase inhibitors (anastrozole, etc.) and other “protocol add-ons” to virtually every TRT patient — often at the very first follow-up, long before any evidence of elevated estradiol or actual symptoms (gynecomastia, water retention, mood issues, etc.).
Many men are started on these drugs even when their E2 is well within normal reference ranges and they feel great on testosterone alone. This is not evidence-based medicine; it’s blanket pharmacological suppression of a natural and often beneficial conversion pathway. Artificially crushing estradiol routinely blunts or completely negates the mood, libido, joint, brain, and erectile benefits that men seek TRT for in the first place.
It feels less like individualized care and more like a deliberate effort to keep patients “managed” rather than truly optimized. Several men I know have left this practice, dropped the unnecessary AI elsewhere, and immediately regained the energy, libido, and sense of well-being they thought TRT was “supposed” to give them.
If you want real optimization and not cookie-cutter suppression of basic male physiology, look elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Dr. Hansel and the entire office staff are wonderful! They are always accommodating, pleasant, and educated. Dr. Hansel is extremely thorough and has a warming personality. I never feel rushed during my visits, as I have often felt at other clinics. All of my questions are answered without exception. They are extremely flexible with scheduling. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Hansel's Urgent Care and feel confident they will be pleased with the services. My family and I will continue care here as long as we live in the Portland Metro area, without a doubt!!!!!

Dr. Hansel is an excellent physician. Each of my visits have been a positive experience. I walked out knowing that he listened to my concerns and wanted to help me feel better. He's knowledgeable, kind, and works hard to help you heal. His staff is friendly and the facility is clean and comfortable. I've recommended Dr. Hansel to my family and would recommend this urgent care to anyone in need of healthcare they can have confidence in.

I started seeing Dr. Hansel on October 12, 2018, the day after an auto accident. I continue to see him twice a week for physical therapy. While he clearly cares about my physical progress, he also shows sincere interest in my life and who I am. He loves sharing stories -- both his and mine -- some very personal. When I step into Dr. Hansel's Urgent Care clinic, I feel like I'm visiting friends. Jill, an exceptional receptionist, always takes time to double check my next appointment, quickly sends updates to my employer, and takes a few minutes to chat. Great people. Great care.
